Research

The Center for Food Safety and Security Systems (CFS³) is dedicated to advancing food protection by being a source of innovative laboratory and field research on systems-thinking approaches to solving regional, national, and international food safety and security concerns. By drawing upon the diverse research resources of the University of Maryland, CFS³ has the ability to rapidly develop the trans-disciplinary teams that are needed to solve today's complex food safety and security concerns.

Furthermore, through collaborations with other academic institutions, government agencies, industry and intergovernmental organizations, we assemble research teams that bring together the best scientist in the world and develop new concepts and technologies in food safety, security, and sustainability.
