On October 1, 2016, Dr. Robert Buchanan stepped down as Director of the Center for Food Safety and Security Systems (CFS3) and resumed duties as Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science.
Bob served in this capacity for the past 8 years, leading the Center to national recognition through impactful research and education surrounding all sectors of our food supply chain. Dr. Buchanan will return to the professoriate in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science where he will resume his fundamental devotion to broadening young minds in the area of food safety.
In order to maintain outstanding leadership within the Center, Dr. Jianghong Meng has been asked to serve as Acting Director until a search is completed to find a permanent director.
