Dr. Ruzante Appointed to Review Committee for FSIS proposed follow-up Surveillance of In-Commerce Businesses Program

Dr. Juliana Ruzante, JIFSAN's Risk Analysis Program Manager, has been appointed to the 8 member committee to undertake the review of the methodology proposed by FSIS for follow-up surveillance of in-commerce businesses. The committee was appointed by the Chairman of the National Research Council and met from July 6-8th in Washington, D.C. to provide feedback to FSIS on the scientific validity and logic for the various elements of the proposed system. This ad hoc committee supports the work of the standing committee and is in the process of reviewing data and methods used by FSIS to improve the agency's programs.
